During urologic surgery,ultrasound (US) is an established method for needle guidance, butdifficulty in visualizing the needle trajectory may add technicalcomplexity to the procedure. Needle guidance systems may simplifythese procedures. The purpose of this randomized bench-top crossovertrial was to compare conventional ultrasound and a computer assistedstereoscopic needle guidance system for obtaining renal access andmass biopsy.
