Question
Can I move the CLEAR GUIDE system between different ultrasound machines at my clinic?
Answer
Yes. But keep in mind – for each different ultrasound system model, you need to have at least one CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBE unit.
Question
Can I switch the CLEAR GUIDE Optical Head between ultrasound transducers?
Answer
No. The optical head is rigidly connected to the ultrasound transducer you choose when ordering a CLEAR GUIDE system. However, you can use multiple different CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBEs with a single CLEAR GUIDE system (e.g. linear or convex transducers).
Question
Can I order several CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBEs with a CLEAR GUIDE system? Can I later add more SuperPROBE units?
Answer
Yes. You can always extend your CLEAR GUIDE system with new, different SuperPROBEs to match your clinical needs.
Question
Can I upgrade my existing ultrasound transducers to CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBEs?
Answer
Clear Guide Medical recommends you use a new ultrasound transducer for your CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBE. Please contact us to inquire about your specific situation.

Question
Do I have to calibrate my CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBE?
Answer
No. CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBEs are fully pre-calibrated by a technician during installation, and you will never have to calibrate them yourself. During regular device maintenance, the SuperPROBE will be checked up and fully re-calibrated by a qualified Clear Guide Medical technician.
Question
How is sustained calibration of a CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBE guaranteed?
Answer
Regular device maintenance is scheduled for all CLEAR GUIDE systems. The SuperPROBE will be checked up by a qualified Clear Guide Medical technician. Details of this maintenance program are specified during ordering.
Question
Do I need any further equipment to use a CLEAR GUIDE system?
Answer
All the components necessary for CLEAR GUIDE Image Guidance are
- your ultrasound machine,
- the CLEAR GUIDE CORE, and
- the CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBE.
Depending on the clinical intervention or workflow, you may want to use
- CLEAR GUIDE SteriMASK sterile covers for the SuperPROBE,
- CLEAR GUIDE VisiMARKER fiducials for improved guidance, or
- CLEAR GUIDE TipTAGS for full guidance.
Question
Can I perform both in-plane and out-of-plane insertions with one CLEAR GUIDE SuperPROBE?
Answer
Yes – to some extent. During ordering, you specify the configuration of your SuperPROBEs (either in-plane or out-of-plane). Instrument guidance is supported up to approx. +/-30 degrees around that main orientation.
Question
Does the instrument tracking work with my regular needle/instrument?
Answer
CLEAR GUIDE systems support single, straight, rigid instruments (14G – 20G, min. visible instrument shaft: 4cm) for two different guidance modes:
- CLEAR GUIDE TipTAGS or PercepTIP instruments: full guidance (i.e. instrument trajectory + tip visualization)
- Regular instruments (needles, ablation introducers, syringes etc.): instrument trajectory guidance (i.e. no tip visualization)
